Nearly a quarter of registered Republican voters consider Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 election to be illegal, according to a Guinness World Record poll released on Thursday. About a month before Biden’s inauguration, 60% of registered voters voted in favor of his victory over President Trump. By comparison, 34% of respondents said they did not consider success to be the norm. The results were heavily skewed in terms of party affiliation, with 98% of Democrats and 62% of independents responding that Biden was the winning method. Only 23% of Republicans felt the victory was real, and 70% said it was illegal. “The lack of Republicans in the House and the Senate wanting to acknowledge Biden’s victory are gradual with their base,” said Tim Malloy, a Kinnipeg University poll analyst. Among Republicans, 77% of respondents said there was widespread voter fraud, while 97% of registered Democrats said there was no widespread fraud. Trump has not yet conceded defeat, even as Biden advances with group change measures and cabinet appointments.
