According to the source, DT Gerald McCoy of the Las Vegas Raiders came out the rest of the season with a knee injury

HENDERSON, Nevada – Las Vegas Raiders defensive tackle Gerald McCoy suffered an injury to his left knee of the season during Monday’s Week 1 win over the Baltimore Ravens, a source confirmed.

Raiders coach Jon Gruden said Tuesday that he feared McCoy had suffered a “long-term” injury the same day it was revealed that right guard Denzelle Good had suffered a torn ACL in her left knee and had lost the season.

The Raiders have identified a reinforcement for the offensive line following Good’s injury. Jordan Simmons, who is part of the Seattle Seahawks ‘training squad, plans to sign the Raiders’ 53-man roster, waiting for a physique, a source told ESPN’s Brady Henderson. Simmons began his career with the Raiders as an unrecruited free agent in 2017.

Gruden also mentioned defensive end Yannick Ngakoue (hamstring) and safety quarterback Marcus Mariota (quad) as injured.

For McCoy, 33, it is the second consecutive season in which the six-time Pro Bowler has ended his early season due to injury. He suffered a ruptured right quadriceps on the training ground with the Dallas Cowboys in 2020 before signing a $ 1.25 million contract with Las Vegas on August 4th.

McCoy played nine defensive tackles against the Ravens (a 33-27 win) and fell in a 49-yard pass from Lamar Jackson to Sammy Watkins with 6 minutes and 31 seconds before being taken off the field.

NFL Network was the first to report that McCoy had lost the season.
