Leonard Fornett will not play for the Buccaneers on Sunday. Fornette is among Tampa Bay’s inactive players for the 14th week in a row, rejecting action against the Minnesota Vikings as a healthy scratch. NFL Network insider Ian Roboport said it was a coach’s decision to exclude Fornett from the game. Fornett’s 2020 season is largely useless, with Ronald Jones running an average of 3.9 yards to make 69 attempts in 10 games as part of a backlash. Fornett has not broken 50 yards in a game against the Giants since November 2, and his workload has dropped drastically from that point, taking only weeks 9-12 to 19 carries. Jones, meanwhile, ran 192 yards in the 10th week against Carolina, and went 90 yards in 19 carries between weeks 11 and 12 – a two-point loss to both the Rams and the Chiefs. Between the two, Jones had the best way in the passing game and broke the 100 yards four times in 12 weeks, surpassing Forneth this season. With the availability of seniors Leesin McCoy and Rookie Keshan Vaughn, it’s not too hard to see the logic behind the Bruce Arians.
