On November 23, 2019, Miami coach Manny Diaz called the 30-24 loss to the FIU “one of the lowest points ever in the history of this glorious project.” A little more than a year later, the highlights of that report still stand out. That loss was the worst game result imaginable for a hurricane project. But there’s going to be a boat ride at 554 yards, 62-26 by North Carolina. When you think of Miami’s best teams, you think of Bulldog defenders like Sean Taylor and Ed Reed. While Hurricanes 2020 may not be one of Miami’s best teams, you would think they would at least take good angles to deal with it. Instead, Michael Carter and Javont Williams on the running back had all sorts of rooms in the open. When someone was on their way, this thing happened: it gets worse. 778 Total Yards by Tar Heels Most allowed by hurricane plan – ever. Yes, having the top five divisions in North Carolina Saturday is a big offense. But this is still the North Carolina team that originated in the state of Florida. This is a good team … but it’s not good for the playoffs. The storylines behind this attack eruption are devastating. Coach MacBrown, on the other hand, remembers that Diaz was once the boss in Texas. In fact, the last time a Manny Diaz-led defense gave up these many quick yards (550 at a loss of 40-21 to BYU in 2013), he was fired the next day by Brown. Can Dias take a similar step with defensive coordinator Blake Baker? At 8-2, the job security of Hurricanes Diaz is not really an issue, but other changes may be on the horizon. However, Miami has now suffered two losses of a historic character, and while Diaz was in charge, there are bad omens under his watch. It is true that 2020 is taxing everyone. Sometimes, you never know which team is going to show up, but Miami will end its regular season on a sour note with Diaz being forced to watch the U.S. situation for 2021 drastically. What else did we learn from Saturday the 15th week of action. A wild shoe toss might have removed the sole right from Florida’s body, but in reality, Johnson had a big role to play in LSU’s surprise 37-34 win in Florida on Saturday night. A true newcomer, his first start – on the road, no less – is certainly enough to keep his team in a winning position. 239 yards and three touchdowns is the perfect place to start throwing without any interruptions. Junior Miles Brennan will still be a forward moving starter, but even if Johnson is not right, he has shown that he is good enough to push Brennan. Don’t be surprised if one day this LSU offense he runs. Georgia will be the most popular team of 2021, I call it now. Whether deserving or not, the Bulldogs are going to get a ton of office love, and this is the quarterback J.D. The 49-14 victory over Missouri is a reflection of what Georgia’s crime would have been like in 2020. Because Alabama and Florida showed some of the best offense in college football, Georgia just couldn’t win with defense. This is not entirely their fault; Jamie Newman quit, and Daniels was not healthy enough to go until late last month. However, 2020 has not come out as many expected – but there is hope for next year. At the end of the season Daniels excelled in his three games, throwing 839 yards, nine touchdowns and one pick. R.P. Jameer White and W.R. With George Pickens having big games against the Tigers, there’s a lot to be excited about coming back. Add to that the Bulldogs ’natural defensive win, and it looks like this team will be loaded next year. USC is the greatest escape artist of college football Gates USC coach Clay Heldon is jealous of how many lives he has. In this modified 2020 season alone, USC has won three games and could easily have lost, most recently 43-38 thriller than cross-down rival UCLA. It also put out short wins at the start of its season against Arizona and the state of Arizona, the latter of which hung 70 burgers on the former and fired their coach. If the Trojans happen to play only the final five minutes of a game, they will be a playoff-bound team. Winning the Bruins puts USC undefeated in a sports bar conversation about the playoffs. It will be interesting to see how the team ranks this team on Tuesday. But as a result, this year’s Pack-12 has not been a playoff factor. That won’t really change after this week, and now the USC Pack-12 Championship game will be played against an opponent in Washington, which is well rested due to the canceled games. Greg Shiano should be named coach of the year as the Rudders, who recorded a 27-24 overtime win over Maryland on Saturday, go 3-5 at the Big Ten Champions Week with a chance of four wins for the first time since 2017. Sounds like a big deal nationally, but look at what the Rudders did when Shiano took charge. What is the average score of the Big Ten game for Scarlet Knights in 2019? It was 39-5, and the team was eliminated four times. The least funny joke the Rutgers can tell; They are beyond terror. Look at them now. They have competed at least in every game. They are not far from being .500 or more; They lost their last-second field goal to Illinois and took Michigan to three extra hours. In a year when it was so easy to mail it out early, the Scarlet Knights were one of the few teams that looked like they wanted to be there every week. There are many National Coty Awards, and it is true that they should not automatically go to an exaggerated coach based on seasonal expectations. Comrades like Nick Saban are proud to build complete death machines in Alabama, but as someone who was skeptical of re-hiring Shiano, how do you see this team compared to last year, which is one of the biggest changes to any FBS program? Iowa is now quietly a hot team. Iowa had six straight wins as the Northwestern team lost 21-20, most recently securing a 28-7 win over Wisconsin (though not perfect). This is a particularly meaningful victory as the Badgers have owned Iowa for the past decade and have not beaten the Hockey Wisconsin since 2015. Iowa have really grown over the last two months and have lost both of their games by a combined five points. This team is not far off from being unbeaten. Quarterback Spencer Petraeus has put the back-to-back good games together, and on Saturday the defense threw the sock yards at 2.6 yards from Wisconsin. (Separately, Wisconsin have not been able to run the ball consistently this year.) Iowa’s road through the Big Ten West has not been very difficult, but it quietly combines a strong season together. The Big Ten Champions Week has a good chance of getting to the Hockey Indiana next week – and it will be a much more compelling match than the Ohio State-Northwest in the actual conference championship game.
