Disney announces new content slate, 86.8 million Disney + subscribers



On the company’s annual Investor Day, Disney unveiled its strategy to focus on developing its streaming service in full on Thursday. Disney has released a list of more than 50 newsreels and shows that will launch on the platform, including “Star Wars” and Marvel, which will provide content from key owners such as. Disney + now has 86.8 million subscribers, up from 73 million at the end of its fourth quarter. It expects to have 230 million and more than 260 million subscribers by 2024.
