In a bizarre practice only possible in 2020, Disney World has been photoshopping non-wearing masks for riding photos on guests, although they have now announced that they will discontinue the practice after negative guest feedback.
As a rule, guests must wear masks at all times except when eating or drinking at the park. However, despite the desire for photos to show their face or ignore the rules, some guests have appeared in photos without masks, which is why the park is beginning to add masks digitally. For the part of the park, it is not clear why they started adding masks, whether to encourage guests to choose their masks in the photos or to maintain the look of harmony for the ad. Whatever the reasons, the park now claims to be stopping “improvements” claiming they are part of a test that doesn’t go right with guests, because the time it takes to add masks has increased the waiting time for pictures digitally. Once guests have already ridden, it is unclear how the park plans to implement the use of masks.
