Authorities say Saturday that a driver was arrested after he plowed a car into a group of protesters in New York City and hit at least six people Friday afternoon. Kathleen Casillo, 52, a New York City police officer, was stopped by a car on Friday evening at 4 p.m. The protest, which began in Times Square, was held in solidarity with immigrant inmates at Bergen County Prison in New Jersey amid a month-long hunger strike, NBC New York reported. “I hear people screaming in front of me. Look behind me, that woman is plowing, I’m running out, I see bodies flying,” one witness told NBC New York. No life-threatening injuries were reported.
