VENICE, Florida (WWSB) – A 15-year-old man has died after an accident in Venice.

According to Florida Highway Patrol officials, the collision occurred on Jackson Road and Batello Drive in Venetian Falls Development.

A Jeep driven by a 17-year-old was traveling north on Jackson Road, approaching Batello Drive. Soldiers say the 17-year-old driver was shifting gears when he lost control of the vehicle around a curve and went over the grassy shoulder.

The Jeep crashed into an oak, overturned and knocked out the passenger, a 15-year-old man. That passenger was not wearing a seat belt, according to the cash.
