More than 150 people have been arrested and a young sex trafficking victim rescued after Los Angeles County authorities closed a massive underground party. Delegates broke into the party Saturday night in an empty house in Palmdale, northeast of Los Angeles. Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva told a news conference Tuesday that organizers entered the home and moved their party equipment using a rental truck. “How shameful this move is,” Villanueva said, calling the party a “superspeeder” event during corona virus outbreaks “deadly source of infection. “As you can see, this is a blatant violation of the governor’s health order. But even without a health order, understand that these actions are criminal in nature,” he said. Authorities arrested 158 people, including 35 boys, at the party. The 17-year-old girl, described by Villanueva as “a child who was sexually exploited commercially,” was rescued from her home. All six guns have been recovered. Villanueva said the department had been informed that the party would take place. Authorities have been monitoring other large crowds, saying, “If we had taken the normal approach, the same victim would have been taken to the next place if the party had broken up, so this really got her back,” Villanueva told a news conference. “He would have been sent to the next party.” A few days before the meeting, government Gavin Newsom introduced a new regional shelter order that would close bars, wineries, hair salons and other essential businesses once every three weeks with a region’s intensive care capacity of less than 15 percent. According to NBC News, California has had the most significant upsurge in new Govt-19 cases in the country over the past few weeks.
