18 Dominican companies will participate in exportable product exhibition in Washington

ones 18 Dominican companies next to the Center for Export and Investment of the Dominican Republic will participate in the exhibition of Dominican products for the month of Hispanic Heritage to be held Sept. 11-12 at The Wharf Area Pier in Washington, DC

The exhibition will feature sale and tasting of products from the Dominican exportable offer of country companies representing agro-industrial sectors such as cigars, chocolate, coffee, casabe; as well as jewelry, handicrafts and cosmetics.

The event organized by the Dominican Embassy in the United States with the support of the organization Festa DC, the Mayor’s Office of the city of Washington, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Tourism, ProDominicana and the Mayor’s Office of the National District.

The executive director of ProDominicana, Biviana Riveiro, urged Dominicans living in Washington DC to participate in the activity and indicated that “Dominican products are the representation of the wonderful soil and climate of our country.”

Riveiro stressed that the United States is the main trading partner of the Dominican Republic. He added that Dominican exports reached US $ 513,250,000, Of a total of US $ 978.34 MM exported in July this year.

“This is equivalent to 52.46% of total exports. The sum is the result of the economic participation of the 839 Dominican-resident companies that export to the US market,” the official said.

During the event, the 18 participating companies will exhibit: cigars, cosmetics, handicrafts, textiles, jewelry, pieces of larimar and amber, coconut oil, cassava flour, cheeses, saons, casabe, coffee, quinola liqueur, honey, vanilla, liquid ginger, fruit pulp, natural juices, yautía, avocados, cuaba soap and confectionery.
