ATKINS, Arkansas (AP) – Two women and three girls have been found dead in a home in northwest Arkansas, authorities said they are being investigated for alleged homicides.
Deputies responded to a call around 5 p.m. Friday and found the five dead in a house in Atkins, a town about 105 miles northwest of Little Rock, the county sheriff reported. by Pope Shane Jones in a statement. The dead were between 8 and 50 years old and are believed to have been all related, he said.
Jones did not provide details on how or when they died and did not say if investigators had a suspect.
“Right now, we believe this is an isolated incident and we don’t believe there is an ongoing danger to the local public,” he said.
Deputies are investigating the deaths with the help of Arkansas state police. A spokesman for the sheriff’s office did not immediately respond to questions.
