DETROIT – On Monday, the US International Motor Show announced that it will not hold the annual event in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In 2020, NAIAS also canceled the event as a result of the pandemic. The show was canceled last year after it was announced that the Detroit TCF Center would become a temporary hospital for patients with COVID.

Since the event is canceled this year, officials of the show revealed a “bridge to the future” with a self-centered event called Motor Bella.
“The new event will bring next-generation mobility and exciting debuts to vehicles, spectators and the world of car enthusiasts in an unprecedented way, while also addressing COVID-19’s continued concerns about covered events,” read a statement from Motor Bella.
Motor Bella will be held from 21 to 26 September 2021 at the Pontiac M1 venue.
“The pandemic has brought about changes in our society and in the world in ways not previously imagined and we should all look for new and highly creative ways of doing business,” said Rod Alberts, executive director of the Detroit Auto Dealers Association and NAIAS.
“This new event captures this creative spirit. It will provide new mobility experiences and increasingly innovative approaches to leveraging the industry and its products. ”
Alberts said attendees can expect a multisensory experience at the new event. “This completely outdoor venue, with adrenaline pumping track activities and a full complement of technology and OEM exhibits, will offer the sights, sounds and even the smell of all that new world mobility can offer, “he said. .
