Before the new Z made its debut, the Toyota Supra was compared to high competition. Depending on what you read o wonder, the Toyota could be seen compared to everything from the Corvette C8 to the Porsche 718 Cayman. With the advent of the new Nissan Z, it looks like we have a more direct competitor. So how do they stack together?

Bthe other Supra and Z are RWD, two-seater sports cars, however the details are what really matters.

How I’m sure you’ll know you can’t paddle your own gears with any engine in the Supra. Both engines are mated to eight-speed automatics.

So is it 0.4 inches wider than the Z (73 inches vs. 72.6 for the Z). The Z is higher, though it’s 51.8 inches. If the interior room matters to you in a car like this, I’m here to tell you that neither is cavernous inside. The Z has more legroom at 42.9 inches versus 42.2 for the Supra.

Z-base ride with 18-inch wheels and the Supra 2.0 as well. Z performance (which is the higher specification of the two versions available for Z) travels on the 19th, the same as the Supra 3.0.

The elephant in the room with the Z is his weight. We to know that the Supra weighs 3,181 pounds with the four-cylinder or 3,400 pounds with the I6. Interestingly, Nissan revealed everything but the weight of the Z.

WI can make some inferences since 370Z 2020 since, although the Z is completely new, it still circulates on the old FM platform that has been used ever since 2001. Ddepending on which transmission and clipping you choosetherefore, the 370Z weighed between 3,333 and 3,439 pounds. Some do I’m worried the Z’s weight will be higher than the twin-turbo V6 it probably is VR30DDTT turbo V6 used in the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport. That motor weighs 429.5 lbs I can’t find a definitive weight figure for 3.7 liters VQ, but the 3.5-liter it was 313 pounds. If I changed nothing but the engine, which is definitely not the case, the new Z would be about a hundred pounds heavier than the outgoing car.

In terms of characteristics, however, both seem to be strong propositions in terms of value money. Toyota provides you with standard leather seats in both the Supra and the a JBL stereo is optional. It looks like Nissan is making all its stops with the Z. You can get a full blue leather interior. Both Apple CarPlay and AndrHellod The car is standard and a 9-inch touch screen is available. This does not include the full digital TFT screen on the steering wheel.

The new Z is a good addition to the declining number of sports cars. Nissan could have done something different easily with the Z, followed the electric route or hit the badge in a sports crossover. The Z should be able to go with the Supra. While its weight and old foundations may be a concern, I have a feeling it will drive well enough for these things to be forgiven.
