2,091 new cases, 18 new deaths in Orange County on Dec. 12 – Orange County registration

The Orange County Healthcare Agency reported 2,091 new cases of the corona virus on Saturday, December 12, bringing the district’s total to 99,393 cases.

In the last 14 days, 21,381 cases have been reported.

The county update states that 1,672,921 trials have been given for the corona virus since the domestic trial began, with at least 31,605 trials reported in the last 24 hours.

Eighteen new deaths were reported on Saturday, bringing the total death toll to 1,680. The most recent death was recorded on December 7th.

Of the total 1,680 deaths reported by the virus, 607 were listed as skilled nursing home residents, 142 as assisted living facilities and four as homeless.

  • 85 and over: 32.8% (551)
  • 75-84: 22.02% (370)
  • 65-74: 19.52% (328)
  • 55-64: 13.87% (233)
  • 45-54: 7.56% (127)
  • 35-44: 2.5% (42)
  • 25-34: 1.43% (24)
  • 18-24: 0.25% (4)
  • 17 and younger: 0.06% (1)

Information about deaths in the county is compiled from death certificates or collected through trial, and officials say they could take weeks to process.

Overall, an estimated 67% of cases, or 65,217, were recovered as of Sunday. The number of survivors is based on the total number of cases in the previous 28 days.

The county announced 1,150 patients at local hospitals with the corona virus on Saturday – Friday through the 28th. While there were 722 people in hospitals in Orange County on July 14, this is higher than those admitted to the hospital during the first outbreak of the virus in July.

As of Saturday, 273 patients were listed in the ICU. The adjusted percentage of beds available in ICUs in the county is 1.7%.

Officials insist that the data released each day is preliminary and subject to change. Additional information may be available upon completion of individual case investigations.
