2,454 new cases of COVID-19 were reported, with 15 deaths on Sunday

Lexington, Guy. (WKYT) – Kentucky Governor Andy Bessier announced 2,454 new Govt-19 cases Sunday. The state total now stands at 223,104 cases. The positive rate for the state is now 8.52%.

Top districts with the most positive events on Sunday: Jefferson, Foyt, Boone, Bulaski and Kenton. Jefferson County reported only 446.

The governor also announced 15 new deaths on Sunday. This brings the total number of COVID-19-related deaths in Kentucky to 2,207.

A 75-year-old woman from Bell County was among those reported missing by the virus on Sunday; Two women aged 65 and 58 from Boone County; An 84-year-old man from Caldwell County; Two women, aged 65 and 74, from Davis County; An 82-year-old woman and a 79-year-old man from Hopkins County; An 83-year-old man from Jefferson County; 85-year-old from Kenton County; A 58-year-old woman from Lawrence County; A 56-year-old man from Oldham County; Two women, aged 89 and 50, from Bulaski County and a 76-year-old man from Taylor County.

Currently 1,712 Kentucky are hospitalized, with 434 in the ICU and 224 on ventilators.

“We see good trends and good news in our fight against COVID-19. We saw 1,235 fewer positive events. This week our positive rate dropped by 1.23% from Sunday to Sunday, and is now less than 24 hours from the actual start of the end of this virus.” The governor said, “The first shipment of two doses of Pfizer-Bioendech Covit-19 vaccines arrived at UPS Worldport in Louisville.” We all get a twist.
