4 candidates to replace Chuck Pagano as Bears defensive coordinator

When looking at young defensive coaches on the rise, the Bears have to start with defensive line coach Jay Rodgers. Rodgers has been working since the era of John Fox and it’s easy to see why the defensive line has been one of the best units during this period.

Rodgers served as assistant / defensive coach with the Broncos from 2009 to 2014 before joining Fox in Chicago, where he coached the Bears defensive line.

While Rodgers doesn’t have the experience of a defensive coordinator like the others on this list, everyone has to start somewhere. Just look at Brandon Staley, a former offseason Bears coach who went on to become the Rams ’defensive coordinator. Chicago should consider Rodgers for the job.
