With 2021 just around the corner, many people are planning their New Year’s resolutions. In fact, you might even be thinking about how you want to learn a new skill, travel more, or get in better shape by 2021. But what about your business?
If you want to continue to grow your business by 2021, you should make New Year’s resolutions for your business, not just for yourself. By making (and following) New Year’s resolutions for your business, your business will be able to reach new levels this coming year.
Here are four New Year’s resolutions your business should make.
1. Provide a 5-star customer service
Providing excellent customer service is essential to any successful business. While your customer service is already excellent, it’s important that you continue to work on ways to improve in order to keep your customers happy for years to come. After all, investing in new customers is 5 to 25 times more expensive than maintaining existing ones, according to the Harvard Business Review. So make a New Year’s resolution to offer your customers even better service by 2021.

Most consumers have been waiting for customer service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in recent years. For this reason, many companies have implemented chatbots on their websites to answer customer questions and have begun to offer customer service not only on their own websites, but also on social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter. . If your business hasn’t done so yet, get an idea by 2021 so you can keep up with the competition and delight your valued customers.
2. Boost your marketing efforts
New marketing trends appear every year that you should keep in mind. If you are not up to date with these trends and adjust your marketing strategy accordingly, you will not be able to capture the attention of online users or turn them into customers. For example, with the introduction of Instagram’s new “Checkout” feature, more and more consumers will shop on social media platforms by 2021. Are your company’s social media marketing strategy ready?
Look at your marketing strategy from 2020 and analyze what worked and what didn’t. You can then replace tactics that didn’t work so well with some new strategies to reach new audiences effectively in 2021.
Increase productivity
Many business owners want to have more time a day to get things done, so why not adopt a New Year’s resolution to increase the productivity of your business? To make your business more productive, you don’t necessarily have to work to become a faster, more organized worker (although it helps); all your business has to do is automate the processes.
With the right tools, you can automate mundane and tedious processes like billing, social media scheduling, email marketing, contact tracking and promotion, and more. Automate the simplest tasks first and go. With some of your most time-consuming automated tasks, you and your team members can work on better and better things.
3. Delegate more tasks and grow your team
As a business owner, you may feel that you need to do everything yourself. But by 2021, you need to start delegating, hiring more staff, or outsourcing so you can stop focusing so much on the day-to-day and focus more on really growing your business. Think about all the tasks you do on a daily basis – are there any tasks you don’t like to do? Are some tasks too overwhelming or time consuming? Is there anyone else on your team who can handle these tasks? If you answer yes to these questions, you will need to pass these features on to someone on your computer.

And if you’re in a position to do so, you may want to focus on hiring more staff in the new year. But remember, even small businesses on a tight budget can hire remote freelancers for tasks such as social media marketing, copywriting, email marketing, and so on. Hiring remote freelancers will allow you to do the job as needed instead of worrying about welcoming new full-time staff members.
4. It happens to you
These New Year’s business resolutions will help any business grow by 2021. But whatever your business goals or resolutions for the coming year, make sure you give yourself the best chance of achieving them by doing them. SMART: Specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely. Setting goals SMART will prevent you from giving up your New Year’s resolutions in March, and instead you will achieve your resolutions and be even more prosperous by 2021.
