IRVING, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – A mother and father had a close call at an Irving park around 5pm on Friday, February 19th.
The couple and their two children were walking through Thomas Jefferson Park, northwest of Irving, when the mother slipped and fell through the ice into the pond.

Her husband, trying to save her, also fell into it.
When first aid arrived, a police officer and an Irving firefighter also fell into the water.

The mother is in serious condition. Dad didn’t turn out so bad.
Both the officer and the firefighter are expected to be fine.
