SALT LAKE CITY – The number of COVID-19 cases in Utah has increased by 447 Saturday, with one death and 31,000 more vaccines, according to the Utah Department of Health.
According to the health department, the average continuous number of positive cases per day for seven days is 406. The percentage of positive tests per day for this time period communicated with the “people on people” method is now 6.8 %. The seven-day daily positive test rate calculated using the “test over test” method is now 3.4%.
There are now 132 COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized in Utah, including 44 in intensive care, according to state data. Approximately 65.4% of all hospital beds in the intensive care unit are occupied as of Saturday, including approximately 69.3% of the ICU beds of the state’s 16 reference hospitals, according to the department of Health. Currently, about 52.8% of non-ICU hospital beds are occupied in Utah.
A total of 1,481,363 doses of vaccine have been administered in the state, up from 1,450,263 on Friday. A total of 965,521 Utahns have now received at least one dose of vaccine, while 558,700 are fully vaccinated. A total of 1,714,390 doses of vaccine have been administered in Utah, according to state data.
Of the 2,405,866 people tested for COVID-19 in Utah to date, 16.1% tested positive for COVID-19. The total number of tests conducted since the pandemic began rose to 4,281,474, an increase of 12,801 since Friday.
The only death reported Saturday was a Utah County man between the ages of 65 and 84. He died at the hospital.
Saturday’s totals give Utah 386,997 confirmed cases in total, with 15,593 total hospitalizations and 2,132 deaths from the disease.
