The federal House of Representatives approved today in a closed vote, the new economic stimulus package for COVID-19, and now only the signature of President Joe Biden is needed for them to start distributing the aid.
Among the most attractive incentives is the $ 1,400 check that will reach most citizens.
However, the package includes multiple federal grants from which you could benefit. Here are five of them:
- Couple in Puerto Rico they will have access to the “Child Tax Credit (CTC)”. Measure to expand the Children’s Tax Credit for 2021 to $ 3,000 per child ($ 3,600 for children under 6)
- Extension to unemployment benefits. The new package continues the $ 300 weekly aid for the unemployed until Sept. 6, and gives contributory credit for those benefits up to $ 10,200.
- is covered 600 hours of emergency license paid for federal workers by quarantine or care of relatives affected by COVID.
- Emergency Aid Fund for Higher Education will receive $ 39.6 billion for public and private colleges and universities struggling to make up for lost revenue after campus closures, including emergency financial aid for students.
- Expand $ 119 incentive for students for food. This increases students’ access to food assistance during the school year and summer months.
Following the approval of the package, Biden is expected to firm up the measure in the next few hours and step in for these benefits to flow among the public.
