The 50 Cent rapper’s response to the death of “The Wire” actor Michael K. Williams has been criticized on Twitter as “disgusting“I”insensitive“.
The musician promoted his latest TV show and alcohol brands in an Instagram post about Williams, who was found dead in his Brooklyn apartment Monday.
The cause of death is being investigated.
“Damn if you didn’t see Raising Kanan check that fentanyl is no joke, killing the clientele,” the musician, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, wrote, according to various media reports.
“RIP micheal k williams,” he added, misspelling the actor’s name.

In other publications, the rapper referred to his years of dispute with the actor and an unconfirmed report on the finding of drug paraphernalia at the scene of his death.
All three posts have since been deleted.
But one in which 50 Cent refers to the reaction to his comments (and doubles them) continues on the platform.
