Calling Eiyuden Chronicle: One Hundred Heroes A successful Kickstarter campaign would be an underestimated issue. A spiritual successor to Konami’s acclaimed JRPG series Suikoden, brings together the major developers of the first and was first revealed in August. With the goal of $ 500,000 in crowdfunding, they completely destroyed that goal to reach the staggering $ 4.5 million.
The news has been quiet since then, but we now have confirmation that 505 Games will release this game scheduled for 2022. Confirmed in a new blog post and YouTube video, Rabbit & Bear Studios leader Yoshitaka Murayama went advise:
For many years we have been dreaming of developing a game for genre lovers that also celebrates everything we love and that we have learned as game designers. Our team is looking forward to working with 505 Games to bring Eiyuden Chronicle to as many fans in the world as possible.
Eiyuden Chronicle is a throwback to the classic role-playing games that have entertained millions of people and an exciting and modern story of discoveries and adventures with a cast of hundreds of characters made. Given his success and history with titles like Bloodstained and Death Stranding, and the strong personal relationship we have developed with the people out there, we feel we have the perfect partner at 505 Games.
Unfortunately, it is unclear whether Eiyuden Chronicle will be released on Switch. Rabbit & Bear had previously raised its concerns and said that due to the age of the Switch and lower specifications, this version could set aside Nintendo’s next-generation hardware closer to release. However, given that Nintendo believes the Switch is only halfway through its life, a successor may not even be available in 2022.
Murayama outlined a family situation, which we’ve seen before with other Kickstarter games, so we can understand the hesitation. At the very least, we know that Eiyuden Chronicle is coming to Nintendo’s console.
