975 new COVID-19 cases reported; 11 confirmed deaths

SAINT ANTHONY – As the end of the year approaches, San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg confirmed 975 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday night.

In Bexar County, there are now 114,362 COVID-19 cases in total and 1,521 deaths in total in Bexar County, an increase of 43 new cases as of Tuesday. Eleven new deaths linked to COVID-19 were reported on Tuesday.

The mayor also updated COVID-19’s count on Monday, as on Sunday the city was unable to download COVID-19 case data from the state. Nirenberg now says 1,126 cases were confirmed on Monday.

The moving average of cases over 7 days is 1,165.

City officials also reported that 1,116 patients are hospitalized, 314 in the intensive care unit and 170 in ventilators. 13% staffed beds and 52% fans are available. Last day, Bexar County hospitals had 157 new COVID-19-related admissions, Nirenberg said.
