The number of new Govt-19 cases daily in California rose 20% in the last 24 hours to a new all-time high of 35,468. This is the third registration number of new cases in the past week. Records of deaths have dropped – from 220 yesterday – and hospital admissions – to 12,940 on Friday – and ICU capacity – to just 9% nationwide. Some parts of the state were even worse. The severely affected San Joaquin Valley had only 4.5% of its ICU beds. The state’s adjusted metric Friday showed just 2.3% of the remaining ICU capacity in Orange County. Southern California had a 6.2% figure for all. ICUs in the districts of San Diego and Santa Clara are expected to reach capacity next week. On top of that uprising the government now sees an uprising. Saying 40,000 new cases daily means more than a million new infections each week. Conservatively, 10% of that population will end up in the hospital, up from 28,000 in a week. This is not standard and there are only about 72,000 beds in the state. Health officials have long warned of the uprising. The “dream” situation, they say, will see another resurgence from the epidemics that spread during the December holiday rallies. It has long been feared that this is a familiar pattern for influenza infections, and that the progression of Govt-19 will follow suit. The tone of their warnings was gloomy last week, with health officials begging California residents not to take vacations. “We are on a very dangerous path to see unprecedented and catastrophic suffering and death,” Los Angeles Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer warned Friday. “This is what we call a Thanksgiving uprising,” Ferrer said. “We had an uprising, now we have an uprising. If there is another uprising from another holiday following this, it will be catastrophic.”
