Carol Sutton, best known for her roles in “Steel Magnolias” and the TV series ரா “Queen Sugar”, has died of complications from the corona virus.
His death was announced by New Orleans Mayor Latoya Condrell. Sutton was 76 years old.
“The world may recognize her from her performances in movies and TV – be it ‘Dream’ or ‘Glass’, or ‘Runway Jury’ or ‘Queen Sugar’ – but we will always remember her command stage presence, her portrayed characters, and her fellow actors. And the loving heart that shared with the team, ”Condrell Said in a statement on Twitter. Sutton died Thursday at Turo Hospital.
Sutton was a part of the stage in his own New Orleans, producing “The Last Madame,” “Native Tongues,” and “Grapes in the Sun” in the late 1960s Tashiki Project Theater productions. ”
She went on television with Sicily Tyson in 1974 with “Miss Jane Pitman’s Autobiography” and starred with Avery Brooks in “The Heat of the Night” and the TV movie “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”. His latest TV credits include “Scream Queens”, a remake of the 2016 series “Roots,” “Dream,” “True Detective,” and “Lovecraft Country.”

His film work includes roles in “Monsters Ball”, “Ray” and “The Help”. She co-starred with Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington as a cop in “The Pelican Brief” and as a nurse opposite Sally Field, Dolly Barton and Shirley McLean in “Steel Magnolias”. He was a judge on “The Big Easy” with Dennis Coyote and Ellen Parkin.
