Eagles quarterback Jolen Hurts put in an excellent performance in his first start, but then diverted credit when he accepted the blame.
Hurtz said in a post-game interview about Fox that he did not believe he deserved praise for the way the Eagles played.
“It’s not about me,” Hurts said. “This is a great team. We have a lot of great players. I am very happy to have this win today. We worked very hard this week.”
Hurtz criticized himself, stumbled late, in advance, and said he still had things to work on. On and off the field, Hurts handled himself the way a leader should do.
