Teams have found that when you are 11 years or less late by 11 points, it is wise to take a field goal and then try an onsite kick. You need Touch Down and Field Objective, not Order.
Numerous racers on Sunday wished the NFL coaches had never figured this out.
Twice in the 14th week, racers supporting favorites were burned at the door by an outer cover. From a strategic standpoint this may be the right move, but losing the challenges on it is not yet fun.
Leaders will cover the second-under field goal
In the early games, Kansas City leaders looked like they had an easy cover after a slow start. The Chiefs, who are 7.5 points ahead of the Miami Dolphins at BTMGM, are 10-0 behind but have the next 30 points. As for the guilt of the chiefs, it must have been a success and a cover-up.
But the Dolphins rallied. They reduced Kansas City’s lead to 30-24, but the Firsts got a late field goal that seemed to win the card. But the Dolphins ran downhill, assisted by a third down pass interception penalty. The Dolphins trailed 33-24 with 21 seconds left to send the field goal down the second. Jason Sanders hit it off, the firsts got an onsite kick, and the Kansas City racers had a rough pulse.
Sunday was not the last time, and this scene hurt the racers.
Lions Packard gets cover vs. Packers
The Green Bay Packers, like the firsts, were in a position to hide 7.5 points as favorites. That line was moved to -9 in BetMGM. But all the Packers ’challenges in the spread were 7.5 to 9 points. That’s important later in the game.
Like the firsts, the Packers received a 58-yard field goal from Mason Crosby, which gave them a 31-21 lead and a clear cover. Matthew Stafford Lions did not leave the game with an injury. The Green Bay racers had to avoid any bad actions in the final three and a half minutes.
Bad things happened. The Lions returned the next kickoff 71 yards. Detroit went down the 4-yard line. The Lions moved backwards due to possession penalties and had a choice in the fourth and fourth of 14: go to Touch Down, which is obviously hard, or take the field goal and try onside. The Lions took the field goal and it was great. They were not available onside and lost 31-24. But they closed.
That door isn’t as great as Miami’s cover. But going to Touch Town is not a great option as the Holding Call Lions are far from the final zone.
Either way, a lot of the racers had Packers and Chiefs on Sunday. This is not a good day for them.
