Fifth death linked to Oak Hill Manor Nursing Home since COVID-19 eruption

Another person has died from COVID-19 at ITHACA, NY O Oak Hill Manor Nursing Home, which has now killed five people as a result of an explosion between staff and residents.

When the explosion and two early deaths were first reported, 39 of the nursing home residents tested positive and 13 staff. It is not clear how many people were affected in the nursing home overall, although there have now been three additional deaths following the first two.

Oak Hill erupted in five of the six deaths from COVID-19 in Tompkins County.

“We were notified today that a resident of Oak Hill Hospital has passed away,” said Frank Krupa, director of public health. “Our thoughts are with the family and those who are fighting the disease.”

More than 30 new positive trials have reported deaths on another day, although today’s numbers are somewhat balanced by 46 recovery. There are currently 307 active COVID-19 cases in Tompkins County. Three were discharged from the hospital and eight were hospitalized with the corona virus.
