Production of Season 2 of “The Witcher” has already been suspended twice this year.
Filming continues for the second season of the popular Netflix series “The Witcher”, despite its star Henry Cave being reported to have suffered a minor leg muscle injury. Production of the fantasy show has already stopped twice this year – in March, when it was announced that actor Christopher Hijju had tested positive for Govit-19. That gap lasted during the UK’s spring lockout in mid-August. It was discontinued again in November when several positive corona virus cases appeared. The series is currently filming at Arborfield Studios, west of London.
According to The Sun, which first reported the news, a source said, “The shooting was a success because of what happened to Henry. He was in the process of an attack and his leg was injured, “he added.” He suddenly climbed up and was in great pain. It is not clear if an object hit his leg or if it was some kind of femur or muscle injury. ”
At the time of the injury, the cave was said to have been using a safety channel in 20-foot-tall trees. “The need for an ambulance was not bad, but he messed up the shooting schedule because he could not walk properly,” the source said. “He has to wear heavy armor in the shots, and he can’t do that because of a leg injury.”
The series about the monster hunter Gerald of Rivia (Cavill) will go on holiday break like other shows in production later this month, but for now it will continue to shoot without its lead.
The first season of “The Witcher” aired in its first month with over 76 million viewers, airing on Netflix in December last year. Created by Lauren Schmidt Hisrich, the show is based on the book series of the same name by Polish writer Andrzej Sabkovsky and the rights to the popular video game.
While the plot details for the second season are under cover, Hisrich pointed out some changes from Season 1, in which the writers are making several deadlines at this time. “What we see in Season 2 is that our characters are all in the same timeline,” Hisrich said. “What allows us to do story-wise is to play in slightly different ways with time. We have to do flashbacks, we have to do flash-forwards, we integrate the time we can’t do in Season 1 in a completely different way.”
