Various people from Hollywood and the media took to social media to pay tribute to the iconic spy novelist John Le Carey, who died of pneumonia at the age of 89 on Saturday night.
Oscar-winning actor Gary Oldman as George Smiley in the 2011 adaptation Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy Directed by Tomas Albrecht, the author was honored in a statement to the Deadline. “For me, John Le Carey ‘is a lot of things,” Oldman said. “Of course, he’s a great writer, the real ‘owner’ of a serious, adult, complex spy novel – he really belongs in that genre. All his followers are in his debt.”
He continued, “His characters were neatly and deeply drawn, there were countless nuances, and for me, living in George Smiley was one of the highlights of my life. I knew little of the conversations, the lunches and the way he went to the set. Surprisingly, he was always on the other end of the phone to make sure we had a question, or a line needed, or a character could say something specific. He always had immediate answers. He was generous with his creativity, always a real man. The true spy master of many generations has left us. But George Smiley and others live. Thanks David. ”

If John Le Car கார் were a contemporary writer who would have given me rich pleasure, they would not be able to name it right now. I think the best one can do to honor his great life & talent is to go to “Call to the Dead” and re-read all his books. The very opposite of a job –
