Georgia football winners and losers following the season’s best win against Missouri

Winner: 2021 Georgia football offense

Georgia football offense put it all together on Saturday. J.D. Daniels threw for 299 yards and three touchdowns. Two of them went to George Bickens, who had the best game of the season. Freshman tight end Dornell Washington looked like he had a professional top 61 receiving yards.

In addition to the passing offense, Georgia was able to shine in the run game as well. The Bulldogs ran for 316 yards, finding the endzone on four different running backs. Jameer White topped the 100-yard again, finishing 126 yards in just 12 carries.

It all added up to a season-best 615 yards and 49 points for Georgia in their 25th win over Missouri.

“It’s George 1 in 1. This is what it looks like with George 1 in 1,” Daniels said. “I’ll never throw George. 50-50 balls with George is really 80-20 balls.”

This Georgia offense has been getting better every week since Daniels entered the starting lineup. Georgia coach Kirby Smart knows there is still room to grow in this team.

“It’s important that we play better, we have not yet reached the peak,” said Georgia coach Smart. “I really feel like we’re not being stopped. We’re stopping ourselves.”

How Georgia’s crime will be in 2021 depends on what Daniels does in relation to the NFL draft. He said he didn’t think much about it after the game. White and James Cook also have decisions about their NFL future.

But if some combination of Daniels and White and / or Cook returns, weapons will be an elite crime in Georgia. It took a while for it to merge in 2020, which could have been a loss for Florida, but Georgia’s offense really seems to have turned a corner and a crime that could compete against Alabama, Ohio State and Clemson.

Lost: Florida

Saturday was the best of the day, as was Georgia, which was even better when Florida’s college football playoff chances were eliminated by the LSU.

This is not a good season as the Tigers took a 6-4 lead following their win over Mississippi State on Saturday. In Malhan’s eight years at Auburn, he went 68-35. He has never had a losing season and has won 66 percent of his games as head coach.

Apparently, that wasn’t enough for Auburn. Malhan had his warts – he was 0-12 in road games against Georgia, LSU and Alabama – but he had three wins against Nick Saban. The rest of the conference is now the same.

Auburn was one of the hardest working people in the country, and it paid Malhan an excellent ton of money.

Liberty’s Hugh Fries, Louisiana-Lafayette’s Billy Napier and Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian are the picks for the start. There is no doubt that Ole Missil will be his favorite if given his past success at SEC.

But when a school like Auburn pays that kind of money that it should no longer have a Malhan coach, it expects the next guy to do even better. Who is going to do a tough job of giving Auburn a schedule of what each year will look like.

Winner: Brock Vandocrif

Georgia’s big weekend loss made a futuristic bulldog Friday night. Quarterback Comet Brock Vandacriff led his team to a 38-0 lead in the GHSA state playoffs.

Vandocrif, who threw 296 yards and hit three touchdowns, was the highlight of the night. Two of them came to the ground. The final finish of the night was his best throw, completing 43-yards.

The win avenges the 62-57 loss to Eagles Landing Christian Academy, the same team that was there a season ago. Eagles Landing Christian Academy also won the previous five state titles in the classification, which made the success of Vandocrif and Prince Avenue Christian Academy outstanding.

“This is definitely the biggest success of my princely career and football career,” Vandocrif said. “Someone here has always kept our records with the prince, he said it was the biggest game in school history, we came after them, so everyone is exaggerated, but we know our main focus is the state championship. I think this is another stop on the revenge tour.

Some players from Vandocrif’s future Georgia team were willing to take on certain parts of the game, and no doubt they should be encouraged by what they saw.

Vandocrif will sign with Georgia next week and bring some of that playmaking ability to the Georgia quarterback room. Bogart, Co., is the 14th overall prospect and the 5 star quarterback in the 2021 recruitment cycle.
