Terry Kay, of Georgia, who won fans at home and abroad for his novels set in the South, has died. He is 82 years old.
His death was announced on his Facebook page on Saturday. A post on page 25 of October stated that K4 was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. His daughter Heather K. Flury confirmed the news Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He did not immediately respond to a Facebook message seeking comment on his father’s death.
K was born on February 10, 1938, in Hart County, Georgia, one of 12 children. After graduating from Lawrange College, he began his career in journalism at the weekly magazine Decatur-Decalph News. Then he worked Atlanta Journal As a sports writer and a film and drama critic.
Q is most famous for his 1990 novel To dance with the white dog, This helped establish him as one of the leading writers of the South. According to Gavin’s website, the book was inspired by the author’s parents. It is the story of an octogenarian and a mysterious white dog who comes to live with him following the death of his wife. The book won the Kay Award for Best Writer in 1991 from the Southeastern Library Association. In 1993, it was awarded as one Hallmark Hall of Fame CBS movie and sold over 2 million copies in Japan.
