Pfizer CEO Albert Burr said on Monday that he had not yet been vaccinated against the Covit-19 vaccine – but only because he did not want to see the line jump.
“I have not taken this yet. We have an ethics committee dealing with the question of who gets it,” CNN’s chief medical correspondent told Dr Sanjay Gupta.
Burla noted that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention acknowledges that priority should be given to leading health care workers and nursing home residents and staff.
“There are very strict quota rules voted by the CDC [on]We are very sensitive that the line should not be cut and vaccinated, ”said Burla.
But he did not rule out the possibility of getting a shot soon if he improved his confidence in the vaccine.
“People will believe a lot [in the safety of the vaccine] If the CEO is vaccinated, ”he told CNN.
The first people in the United States began receiving the vaccine on Monday, after the Food and Drug Administration granted the drug emergency use approval on Friday.
Jab was managed on camera by Sandra Lindsay, a key care nurse at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center – the first in the country to receive the shot.
