Green Bay – The Packers are back with the NFC North Champions and Aaron Rodgers ready for another weekly award.
Following on Sunday’s 31-24 victory over the Detroit Lions, MVP has been nominated twice for FedEx Air Player of the Quarterback Week, winning back-to-back titles at Green Bay.
Fans are encouraged to vote for Rodgers via the @NFL poll on Twitter and the NFL mobile app. Voting ends Wednesday at 2 p.m.
Rodgers finished 290 yards, three touchdowns and 26 of 33 passes with no interruptions to victory. While the FedEx Air award does not technically count for it, the 16-year-old experienced 30th career D.T.
Rodgers has made a compelling case for winning his third MVP award this season, finishing with 312 (69.6%) at 3,685 yards, 39 touchdowns and 448 passes for four interceptions. His 119.7 pass rating currently leads to all NFL QBs.
Rodgers is the first player in NFL history to have nine games a season with three plus touchdowns and zero INTs. With 39 DT qualifiers this season, Rodgers has tied his previous title with the first 13 games of the season since 2011.
Other nominees for Week 14 Air Player are Mitchell Trubiski of Chicago (267 yards and 24 for 33 DDs) and Denver 280 yards (21 of 27 for four DDs).
