ABC 15 received the first immunizations Monday morning inside a Phoenix HonorHealth facility. Health officials did not open the vaccines and could be seen placing them in freezer boxes.
The first screening is available on the Marigopa County website for those in Level 1A, which includes healthcare, education, long-term care facilities, pharmacies and more.
Additional federal guidance on the distribution of the vaccine beyond Phase 1A is expected in the coming weeks, according to Marigopa County Health officials.
“Once recommendations are made and more is known about the availability of the vaccine, state and local health officials can determine the best and most equitable way to vaccinate other priority groups,” the county website says.
