For a year limited to video conferencing, our smart displays could not keep up with a worthy companion – often no apps or not very good. But there is still a big improvement due to the big news for Nest Hub Max owners and Google Meat users crossover and zoom.
Zoom is now available to Hub Max owners in Australia, Canada, the UK and the US through the Nest Preview program
If you’re interested in participating, you can open the Google Home app, tap Nest Hub Max, and then Settings, and when it’s available, the Preview program. You also need to make sure your zoom is linked to your Google Account.
You can zoom meeting IDs into events on your Google Calendar and then say “Hey Google, join my next meeting”. You might also say, “Hey Google, start zooming call.”
Nest Hub Max owners who are part of the paid Google Workspace or G Suite team can take advantage of a new set of features that include a call clock, caller nameplates, 2×2 grid display, overflow caller list and tapping capability. And keep callers in sight – many of them should be standard in the initial beta.
Google is also promoting its Google WiFi and Nest WiFi mesh router systems, reminding users that they automatically prioritize performance for meeting and zoom calls.
