It is not possible for a video game to offer “something for everyone”. Hades Is approaching.
Even someone who doesn’t like it Hades A complete set can be found of some of the elements that speak to them. All of those unique pieces fit into a confident, fully realized game with the skills to teach you and a story to tell you. It’s a game made up of a group of actors, each of whom adds a god-like sum of their equally beautiful parts.
I collected some “types” of hats fans.

Hades
Ours 2020 Guide to the Best Entertainment of the Year, Calculates our top 10 places with a collection of polygon articles Our full top 50 list. Throughout the month, we look back year after year with exclusive videos, articles and surprises!
You are a fighter
You play Zagarias, the rebellious son of Hades, who decides that he is good enough in Dad’s underworld. But escaping is not as easy. It involves waves after waves of random enemies in random rooms, and Zacharias uses a set of random improvements – in honor of the gods of Olympus, each of which has a soft spot for him.
There is a lot of randomness in Hades. But the more you play, the more Zacharias and his arsenal you will learn. You need to decide what skills you want to invest in, what weapons to take with you in each fight, and to improve permanently over time. Your own skills will be in balance, and you will master the art of line and strike and experiment to find out which gods’ gifts work best with your game style and favorite weapons. You will learn which enemies you can defeat in seconds and which individuals are most concerned. In other words, the way to catch deadly butterflies — you will learn to hate the most dangerous pink spheres. Then, after many improvements, you will realize that they are not dangerous at all.
Described by my colleague Ryan Gilliam Hades As a “comfort game” in his review, its pin is softened into something familiar, like work boots worn by a pair of repetitive cycles. In Ryan’s words, “Even when I beat that boss and ended my journey, it was not over. The game inspires me with new items to further improve my weapons and personalize my home. But no matter how many runs I win or how many times I fall, I always jump out of that window again, trying to see what that first update will be, and then the next, the next. ”
You are a lover
If war is too challenging, or it is not your thing, Hades There is a fix for you: God Mode. This is not an “easy” method. This simply reduces enemy damage by 20%. Each time you die, you will find another 2 percent point until that number hits 80%. It’s a way to see the rest of the text without so much friction – and the rest of the game is worth watching.
Story Hades Marginalized, or as it seems at first. In between escape attempts, Jacques engages in casual conversation with others who live in his father’s field. But even though his deaths are stacked, Jacques is stubborn and, over time, he even invites alliances and romantic interests from the various gods and angels in his orbit.
I soon realized that these similarities were the reason I continued to play. I was concerned about excelling in the game, of course, but mostly like anyone I read, I wanted to see if Achilles and Petroclus would reunite. The Iliad Will be a long time to see. I wanted to continue to run in Thanados to make him the clear winner of John’s affection.
Those folks are some of my favorites, though Hades It has a cast of characters that are as glamorous and confusing as the real ancient Greek pantheon. This story makes legendary references to familiar players, but it’s hellishly brilliant about it all, inviting you to the ride even if it’s your first time about the recurring love of Persephone and Hades. The game lays out the entire cast with killer glamorous figures, strong writing, vocal acting and always cautious flavoring of story crumbs sprinkled on every nook and cranny. Balacon contributor Nico Theo summed it up:
Hades There may be more emotionally disconnected NPCs from Zacrias, who serve as mere puff dispensers, but instead they can be comrades, crushers and allies.
The mythical system creates a delicious range that suspends the harsh reality of relationships in the real world. These are immortal immortal beings, foreheads and oceans born from the night sky and those who do not adhere to the strict concepts of “colleagues,” “family” and “acquaintances.” […] This is a dream you will sink into: Zacchaeus must escape your primary desire, but again and again, all of the revolving doors go back to these faces, the ones you grew up with as needed.
You want the best things
If you’ve going to spend so much time stuck in one place, it’s so beautiful, and Hades Provides. When you are sick of Tartarus’ environments and enemies, you will be in Aspotel and Elysium – and after each death the world will be filled with another world of its own enemies. During moments of high play the game erupts with neon and volcanoes, and Jack returns to the house where he hates the dark brown and blood-red pools to get emotional. Each moment is individually, differently, carefully designed.
Music Hades It’s striking, but it’s so low. Games that include repetitive rooms full of random enemies should help you feel comfortable repeating the same things over and over again Hades, I.e. asking the same thing over and over again. But I never sounded Hades, As part of how much they touch in the actual game.
Each run starts with the same explosive notes, but then the soundtrack takes the back seat, moving forward only when the key moments arise. For example, “The King and the Bull” begins with a low thru, which always slowly develops into a sharp metallic tear, which coincides with the frustration of a double boss fight. Meanwhile, Euritis’ Bittersweet “Good Return” never kicks it off, the whole time is slow and low, but since this is one of the few songs that has the song, its minimalism encourages you to stop and listen, listening to his story in its entirety. It’s a soundtrack that doesn’t focus on its own strengths, instead rewarding the patient player who cares about effort and quality … and over time, you’ll notice it even though you are.
Hates do not need to be this good

Picture: Supergiant game via polygon
In 2018, Supergiant Games was released Hades Initial access. Even then, Hades There was a lot to offer; The bones of the game were fine, which shows the gem’s promise to change after two years of polishing. In 2019, studio director Amir Rao and writer and designer Greg Kasavin told the studio about the studio’s less successful story: their policy of not having compulsory overtime, and most importantly, the holidays imposed on employees who need to be allowed to recharge. In the video game industry, it is not static. It should be.
Do you know what else is non-standard? Releasing a video game that checks many of these boxes. Super-tight combat, a way to reduce further inconvenience? Cheque. Drama, intrigue, comedy and sexy side plans and a love story? Cheque. Beautiful animations? Scary melody? Check, check. Strange storylines and romance, but already in ancient Greek mythology and mythology, so no one is going to fight you with “historical accuracy” or whatever? Four times the test. Racial difference, because you know who the gods really are from ancient times or today? Check again.
Is it true that all of this fits into a game that knows exactly what helps each individual paint that big picture, and you don’t have to feel bad about being supported in a studio with work practices in a studio? You don’t have to do it for us, Supergiant. But you did.
