After 10 10-catches, a large-scale 130-yard try Sunday Night Football On stage, it’s worth looking back now at the Stephen Dix trade Why Min Botta had faith in the bills to bring down a guy who was found to be an abuser. In the spring, we went through the buffalo’s quick pursuit, compensation and finances, but only briefly touched on how Sean McDermott, Brandon Bean and the buffalo brass tested Dix as a cultural fit. First, they had a mole of something. Berence’s college scout director, Terence Gray, was a part-time scout for the Vikings when Dix was drafted, and in his first two years in the league, provided the pipeline for how the receiver was viewed inside the Viking facility for the buffalo. Second, they had contact with those who had a close relationship with Dix. One was Maryland coach Mike Loxley, who assigned Dix to College Park and Derba was his offensive coordinator for three years. The returns on all of those sources are consistent: trust is key, and bills should always be straight with Dix. But for a few of the Bills staff who were in Carolina before they came to the buffalo for scouts and coaches, they get a guy with a competitive intensity and practical intensity reminiscent of Steve Smith. As for whether he would rock the boat, the word came back that Dix could be a problem if you both lost and he didn’t see the ball. So Bills added to it, seeing that their plan was willing to invest in that kind of player and person, and it is fair to say that the leap of faith paid off handsomely.
While we were on the bills, I heard vehemently that coaches and scouts at the company have won the cause of defensive coordinator Leslie Frasier for leadership training jobs in the 2021 cycle. Frazier served as head coach in Minnesota for only three years in his first round. He made the playoffs in Year 2, but failed to beat Christian Ponder in the 12th selection in 2011, and was eliminated in 2013 after the Vikings went 5-10–1. Frasier is loved for his part by the soldiers there (he received a consistent reception after the news of his release), and he is loved by those in the buffalo. The bills were so disappointing that Frazier did not give any interviews last year, and Kim Bekula, the owner who has served on diversity groups in both the NFL and the NHL, and who was Fraser’s great lawyer – decided to bring Frasier. League meeting last March to meet other owners. Apparently, that meeting was canceled, but the gestures were revealed to those in the Bills system, and Begula and Frasier sat together on the NFL team on diversity in the spring. So it will be interesting to see where this goes. A striking age against Frasier (age 61). But my guess is that if teams dig into what other coaches and players think of him, they will conspire a lot. Also, it is good for Begula to get fresher ahead of other owners. I talked to a lot of black coaches last year about how the NFL needs to work to fill the diversity gap about an important, sometimes missing area of networking.
One more in D Dix. This only applies to one. Last year, as the Texans watched Deandrey Hopkins move, the sounds of the Hopkins-for-Stephen Dix deal grew brief. The Vikings were not interested, for various reasons (money is a big.) Instead,. Injured by a draft-pick for the Minnesota Dicks, the first-round pick became Justin Jefferson. Will the Vikings do this again? One hundred times. Why? Here are 28-year-old Hopkins’ salary cap numbers worth $ 7.006 million this year: .5 12.5 million, .0 25.05 million, .2 27.2 million, $ 22.67 million. Here are the hat numbers for 21-year-old Jefferson, who is worth $ 2.39 million this year: 98 2.98 million, 8 3.58 million, 18 4.18 million. This season, Hopkins has 94 catches and five touchdowns for 1,155 yards. Jefferson has 65 catches for 1,078 yards and seven touchdowns. It doesn’t take anything from Hopkins. But it is Will do Explain the value of draft exams. Yes, it is more dangerous to trust them than to bring in a proven veterinarian. But its benefits can be felt in the coming years.
We’re lost a little in The Chase Young Breakout – we wrote about the Washington Rookie’s big afternoon in the MMQP column. A couple of people on the football team pointed it out to me on Monday morning and told me to dig into the pressure figures. So I approached the good guys at Pro Football Focus and they gave me a good idea about the tears that Montez has to sweat. Since the 11th week, the second-year ex-first-rounder has had the third-highest overall rating (88.1) among defenders at the league level, with nine total pressures, three blocks for loss (or no profit), and eight blocks in run defense (the latter two numbers are the top 10 in his position. Gain seats). Remember, a cyborg like Young, pretty weird of sweat — he ran 4.41 at 260 pounds. To say that Washington will be too scary for years to come to that point. Sweat 24, Young 21, and both cost $ 9 million against the team’s 2020 cap. Throw in all the other first-round defensive lines, Ron Rivera has a nice little foundation to build in DC
Last week, Cowboys QB Andy Dalton had to underestimate his return to his home state of Cincinnati for the first nine years of his NFL career. But one day it was removed, with time to reflect, Dalton Done Appreciate the shot to go back as soon as he leaves. It was clear when he and I went back and forth on Monday morning. “The win was very good,” he texted. “I was very happy to be back in Cincinnati and see everyone as players, coaches, equipment staff, coaches. It’s special to win against a team I ‘ve played for so long. [McCarthy] The players turned it into a big deal, so that meant a lot. “A few people have said this in the last 24 hours, but Dalton was one of the really good ones. So, it was a very different chapter in his career, and it was nice to see him there yesterday.

This is the least interesting of the Jaguars quarterbacks later in the game, with Duck Marron Gardner returning to the mince after five first-downs and 99 yards behind Jacksonville seven yards behind Mike Glenn, and then decided to stick to the mince on Monday. At this point, realistically, the Jacks are one of only two teams alive for the first selection (the Jets need to go 3–0 to take a shot at the Bengals), and actually currently have a tiebreaker on the Jets – their table strength is slightly worse (.546-5.599, a tanathon.com To). This gives them a shot at Trevor Lawrence, and at worst, a 2–1 thriving position to take Justin Fields. So why would they make a quarterback change now? Marron, in terms of his job security, can’t worry about 2021. At this point, he’s done a good job of booting out a bad team, so in practice I hope Minshu’s work can be sold to the rest of the security vault.
The week’s figure should be 18. That’s the number of Jalan Hertz on Sunday against the Saints. Carson Vents was twice as good as he was in his 68 career starts — in fact he raised a career-high nine (65 yards) against the Bengals in September – Vents’ movement was considered a good strength when he came out in 2016. For me, it shows two things. One, what does Billy have to do to make the offense for Hertz short notice. Two, how the Saints could have been caught a little safer. The New Orleans coaches found themselves fighting the highly designed quarterback runs on the ground, and the quick game was the way to pass in the air. Comments are, of course, nowhere to be found. But the way the game was called by Billy’s coaches was very different. It will be interesting to see how it looks in Arizona on Sunday, with the cardinals having the benefit of seeing the adjusted plan on the tape.
New Riders defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli has the opportunity to simplify a bunch of Vegas defense – which he has coached in the past – and institutionally hopes it will play a young defense fast. Therefore, it is important for decision makers to see if this helps to get more out of players like Trevon Mullen, Max Crosby, Clelin Ferrell and Jonathan Abrams.
When Sam Sam Dornold was asked if he wanted to stay on a jet, he said here: “I like it here. I love people and love living here. I was always told to become a jet for life. I do not need that decision. But I feel that way. “The funny thing is, he really has some control over it. If he can manage a win, it will cost the Jets the first overall pick. Then, for the team, the quarterback decision goes from the easy one (take Trevor Lawrence) to the more complex one.
I’m glad to see Baker Mayfield on Monday night, and I think there’s at least some reason to believe that what Browns fans saw last week was real. We mentioned this in a discussion of Aaron Rodgers in the MMQB column, and it’s true – the quarterbacks playing in Shanahan’s offense make big leaps towards the end of Year 1 and Year 2. Koff in LA and now Rodgers in Green Bay. Maybe, just maybe, last week with Mayfield was just the beginning of something in those ways.
