Connecticut’s COVID-19 positive rate is now 6.08%, and 81 people have died from the virus over the weekend.
The corona virus death toll in the state is now 5,444.
Hospital admissions have also increased by 33 since Friday. There are now 1,243 people infected with the virus in Connecticut hospitals.
Of the approximately 120,000 COVID tests performed, 7,231 were positive. The state’s 7-day positive rate average is 6.8%.
A total of 3.8 million corona virus tests have been administered in the state since the virus appeared in March. Of that number, a total of 154,000 trials were shameful.
The update comes on the same day that Connecticut received its first Pfizer Covit-19 vaccine, and the state’s first health workers received the vaccine.
The corona virus infection rate in Connecticut has risen to its highest number in recent months. Friday’s test positive rate was 7%.
Vaccine distribution this week
Connecticut is scheduled to receive nearly 130,000 doses of Pfizer Covit-19 vaccine over the next two weeks.
Governor Nate Lamond has released a breakdown of how many vaccine hospitals across Connecticut have arrived this week.
Of the 31,200 COVID vaccines distributed, 15,600 were given to hospitals for health workers, and 15,600 to nursing homes and residents for CVS and Walkreens.

Other Connecticut hospitals not mentioned above will receive the vaccine next week, CEO Josh Kepale said.
More than 98,000 vaccines are expected to be distributed in the state next week.
Federally qualified health centers, local health departments and pharmacies will begin receiving vaccines next week.
