Police have identified a man who was arrested after boarding the tarmac and boarding the wing of a plane preparing to take off from Las Vegas airport. Alejandro Carlson, 41, remains in Clark County Jail on suspicion of entering and disregarding the safety of a person or property, according to CBS affiliate KLAS.

The video of the incident posted on social media shows the man struggling to climb to the wing end of an Alaska Airlines flight. When officers approach the man, he loses his footing and falls to the ground, where he is detained.

It was unclear if Carlson still had a lawyer and his hometown was not immediately available.

Police said officers were called to McCarran International Airport around 1:30 a.m. Saturday after a man jumped a perimeter fence and boarded the wing of an Alaska flight. Airlines flying to Portland, Oregon.

Police said the man later identified as Carlson appeared to have deteriorated.

The airline said in a statement that the flight was preparing for take-off “when the pilot noticed an individual advancing towards the plane”.

They said the pilot notified the tower, law enforcement was able to capture the individual and the plane returned to the gate for a full inspection.
