Over the past few years, HMD Global has followed Motorola’s similar strategy of launching phones at every price level imaginable. The cheapest option so far was the Nokia C1 2019, a 3G-only phone aimed at developing countries, but now HMD is launching a ‘Plus’ variant with updated hardware and software.

The Nokia C1 announcement is one of the most vague press releases I’ve read, so there aren’t many precise details to follow. It has a 5.45-inch “HD +” display (presumably the same 960×480 resolution as the original C1), 4G support, a 2,500 mAh battery, a front flash, and enough storage space for “up to 3,000 songs or 13 hours of HD video. “Neither the SoC nor the amount of RAM is mentioned, and the phone will ship with Android 10 GB Edition. HMD didn’t say when (or if) the phone would get Android 11, which was released three months ago.

It is also unclear exactly where the Nokia C1 Plus will be sold, as well as somewhere in Europe, as the price of EUR 69 implies. It will be available in red and blue.
