Dollar price December 15th

Citibanamex sells the dollar at 20.70 pesos, while BBVA Mexico he does it on 20.49, Banorte at 20.40, Santander at 20.23 y Aztec Bank in 20.01 units.

The peso appreciated after four consecutive falls, before a weakening of the dollar due to expectations that United States approve a new package of fiscal incentives to deal with the coronavirus crisis.

How is the exchange rate going?

Base Bank explained in a report that the weight starts the session with an appreciation to the observation of a weakening of the US dollar and an increase in risk in global financial markets, particularly in the capital market.

The weighted index of the dollar begins with a decline of 0.16 percent, while the Mexican peso is ranked as the fourth most appreciated currency, behind the pound sterling with 0.35 percent, the South African rand with 0, 32 percent and the Chilean peso with 0.30 percent.

Market optimism is again related to the expectation that a new package of fiscal stimulus will be seen in the United States. Today Republican leader Mitch McConnell will hold a press conference, where he expects his support for a $ 748 million stimulus package.

The package includes $ 300 million to support small businesses, through the Check Protection Program (PPP), 180 million for insurance for additional work, 45 million for to airlines and 82 billion earmarked for education, among other supports.

Dollar in real time

He euros is sold over the counter at a maximum of 25.07 pesos and is bought at 24.52 pesos. For its part, the pound sterling it is offered at 26.97 pesos and is purchased at 26.97 pesos.

The Bank of Mexico (Banxico) recorded the previous session of an exchange rate of 20.17 pesos per dollar.
