FRANKFORT, Ky (18 LEX) – During his news conference Tuesday, Gov. Andy Beshear announced that 2,946 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Kentucky. After removing duplicates, the 2,946 new COVID-19 cases bring Kentucky’s total COVID-19 case to 227,818.
“Today’s report, while again higher than we want it to be, is lower than last Tuesday’s Tuesday and significantly lower than the previous Tuesday, when we had more than 4,000 cases,” Governor Beshear noted.
Tuesday’s passivity rate was 8.53%.
Governor Beshear also announced 15 new coronavirus-related deaths, bringing the total number of Kentucky coronavirus-related deaths to 2,239.
As of Tuesday, 1,788 Kentuckians are hospitalized for coronavirus-related reasons, 438 of them in the ICU and 246 of them with a ventilator.
