Man killed after a shooting in Pearland with the agent involved

PEARLAND, Texas – A man has died after an officer involved was shot dead in Pearland on Tuesday.

The shooting was reported at about 3.20pm on the 1100 block of Sussex Trail.

According to Pearland police, officers responded to a call from a neighbor who was detained at gunpoint.

“He went to her house, contacted her and refused to let her go,” said officer Jason Wells of the Pearland Police Department.

Wells said the arriving officers met with an armed man who refused to follow the officers’ orders. He pointed the gun at officers and officers opened fire, Wells said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

No officers were injured.
