The alleged assailant at New York Cathedral had an extensive criminal history

Assault, threats, fraud and drugs are some of the crimes that make up the extensive criminal history of the alleged perpetrator in the shooting at St. John the Divine Cathedral in New York.

The aggressor was identified by the police authorities of that city as Luis Vásquez, 52, and according to a team of Telemundo journalists 47.

This shooting is not the first criminal act that Vásquez allegedly started before being shot in the head by New York City police (NYPD) officers on Sunday afternoon.

According to various news agencies, several witnesses to the shooting say they heard the man shouting at the police to shoot him.

Vásquez he was wanted for threatening with firearms last summer. However, he previously had a history of assault, homicide intentions, fraud and drug crimes 30 years ago, according to the investigation of Carlos Zapato, a reporter for the American media.

Two firearms and a bag containing gasoline, ropes, knives and other items were recovered at the scene.
