BASEBALL – Giants win with home runs by Francisco and Sierra

Juan Francisco and Moisés Sierra connected home runs to lead the Cibao Giants to a 7-2 victory over Los Leones del Escogido in the game of the Dominican professional baseball tournament held Wednesday night at the Julián Javier Stadium.

This was the third straight victory for the Giants who put their record at 10-11 while the Lions put themselves on their record at 14-13.

Francisco took it out in the first inning and Sierra buttoned it up in the fourth episode for the Giants to take an advantage to stay until the end of the game.

Scott Haskin had a good start throwing five innings and a third of just one hit, no runs and three strikeouts to claim the win while the loser was Casey Harman with three unbeaten and three fabricated runs.

Los Gigantes scored a lap in the first inning with Francisco’s lone quadrangular through the fence of the right yard.

In the third inning, the Giants scored a return to the springs of José Sirí who connected double to the left, advanced to a third by wild pitch and scored with a high sacrifice in the left field of Ronald Guzmán.

At the end of the fourth inning, the new captain of the Sierra team connected a lone home run through the left field for the third round.

The hosts scored four in the seventh. For the Giants, Sierra hit a home run and a double, Francisco hit a home run and a single, Oneil Cruz, a triple, José Sirí a tubey, Guzmán, Rosario and Marte a single each.

For the Lions, Florial connected home and Luis Rengifo, Miguel Gómez and Eury Pérez each unstoppable.
