Walmart has commented on its upcoming replacement for Xbox Series X and PS5 and, according to the major retailer, will soon have another replacement for next-generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Unfortunately, the retailer will not disclose as soon as possible, but it will note that it will be another online replacement instead of a replacement in the store. In addition, the retailer notes that it is doing everything possible to ensure that the replacement does not end up in the hands of robots and climbers by continuously updating its anti-bot software in its place.
In fact, the retailer suggests that he should ask lawmakers to do something to prevent robots from wreaking havoc at retail outlets and engulfing the prized stock of demand items, noting that he wants customers to have the same access to obtaining the products they want.
“We soon have more next-generation consoles and we continue to work hard to get them in the hands of as many customers as possible,” said Jerry Geisler, head of information security at Walmart Global Tech. “We expect other retail companies to join us in asking lawmakers to do more to prevent these unwanted robots from retailing sites, so that customers have equal access to the products they want.”
In addition to not defining “soon” with specific details, the retailer does not say when it will provide those specific details. That said, so far, the retailer has alerted customers in advance whenever it pushes a replacement of any of the consoles.
This week, Walmart pushed new stocks for both PS5 and Xbox Series X, and while stocks went extremely fast, it was a much smoother process compared to Best Buy and GameStop, which has also been sold through a new replacement this week. That being said, if you’re still trying to get a PS5 or an Xbox Series X, Walmart may be your best shot.
