Trump announces that EE. UU. He approved the Modern – Health vaccine

President Donald Trump has stated this Friday on Twitter that the vaccine against covid-19 from Modern American Laboratory was approved.

“Moderna’s vaccine approved overwhelmingly. Distribution will begin immediately,” the head of the White House tweeted.

A decision by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on the vaccine was expected this Friday, a day after a committee of experts recommended its approval.

The president also addressed “Europe and other parts of the world that are being hard hit by China’s virus: in particular, Germany, France, Spain and Italy,” assuring them that “vaccines are on the way.”

Modern in late November submitted an application to the FDA for “emergency use authorization” of its mRNA-1273 vaccine against coronavirus. Earlier, the company stated that during the clinical trials of the third phase of its vaccine, in which 30,000 volunteers participated, this had shown an efficacy of 94.1%, while the effectiveness of the drug against severe forms of the disease is 100%.
