He initially showed his discomfort as the phone quickly fell to 2,000 feet, where he landed near the beach without hurting anyone.
Using the Find My iPhone app, Galiotto located his phone where it was still remarkably intact.

He survived the fall with only a few scratches, according to Brazilian newspaper G1.
The device had only been fitted with a standard silicone case and a screen protector.
Galiotto said, “I had faith I would get her back. I thought, ‘If he doesn’t fall into the water, we’ll find him.’
