Bond conditions released for Derion Vence, man accused of killing Maleah Davis

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – Derion Vence, the prime suspect in the death of Maleah Davis, appeared before a judge for a bail hearing Friday morning after writing a letter asking for a bail reduction.

Vence is accused of manipulating evidence, that is, of a corpse. A child is also accused of causing serious bodily harm.

As part of Vence’s bail conditions, the state requested that he stay within Harris County and the surrounding areas. You must not have any contact with Brittany Bowens, Maleah Davis’ mother or any member of the Davis family, as well as with anyone under the age of 17. You must undergo random drug testing and carry a GPS monitor. And you don’t have to own a gun.

Vence reported Davis’ disappearance in May 2019. His body was found the same month in rural Arkansas.

The Vence bond is currently set at $ 90,000. He requests that his bond be reduced to $ 45,000.
